Lincoln Christmas Market began in 2011 with just 11 stalls. It's now grown into one of the largest in Europe, including those famed Christmas fairs in Germany. And the Teutonic connection doesn't end there as the event was initially conceived as a tribute to the annual festive market held in Lincoln's twin town, Neustadt in Germany.
So in addition to fairground rides (and organs, like this one) you can sample a range of traditional German food and drink as well as all the other things you'd expect to find at a Christmas market.
*STOP PRESS! If you were planning to visit Lincoln Christmas Market today this might be as close as you're going to get. Unfortunately the event was cancelled late yesterday in view of the extreme weather warnings.
