It's another of my away-days, and today I 'm alighting here, on the blog of the excellent and extremely talented Nik Perring, pontificating on the pros and cons of crowd funding.
There seems to be some misunderstanding about how crowd funding works, at least as it applies to books. For a start, it's not self- or vanity publishing. My MS and proposal was assessed - twice - before I was allowed to sully Unbound's Booker-nominated imprint.
Second, you can't lose. If my book doesn't fund you get a refund. Is that how crowd funding works in other spheres? I can only assume not, given the sometimes hostile reaction to what I'm doing.
Anyway, that's enough of that. You can read the full post here and my thanks go to Nik for the opportunity to add his blog to the grand, virtual book tour.
