Out with the old...

Appropriately for New Year, today's (nearly) wordless Wednesday sees the back of the exploding oven and delivery of a shiny new replacement. Oh, and Charlie gets to sit in the delivery van, too....

Still not heard a thing from Hotpoint....

Have you seen a big, green van Charlie?

That'll do nicely thank-you! What - I have to give you money for it?

Right then, job's a good 'un. Put the kettle on. Let's be goin'

What a very very happy boy (charlie that is), a trucker or a binman his future is mapped out.

Oh and cool oven!!

The Dotterel said...

Cool aren't they MSG? Although I'm not sure he should be driving in thenm...

Or combine the two and drive the bin-lorry MH! And as for the oven, I can confirm it works. We had a very tasty bolognese last night,

Did they let you have a go after Charlie?
I'm looking forward to the fire station open days so I, oh I mean K, can have a sit in a fire engine :)

The Dotterel said...

No, they didn't give me the chance (the miseries). Oh, and the nee-naws are next, MDM!

Wow - like the shiny new cooker. I am developing 'cooker-envy', having now survived over six months with just a microwave and a single hob. Can't wait for our house renovations to actually start!

I see you didn't have snow ... then...

I am in lust with your new oven.

ooh, i love shiny new appliances. And awesome slippers by the way.

Trucker Charlie is the business. Looks like we've got ourselves a convoy, 10-4!

The Dotterel said...

How did you manage Christmas dinner Catharine? We thought we were badly-off with just the small top oven.

It's so shiny new Zoey that it seems a shame to use it... Not for long, though!

I want a pair Heather, but I'm told they don't do them in my size.

...and rubber duck, Dumdad. Whatever that means.

That looks a fabulous oven. It's awful you've heard diddly squat from Horrible Hotpoint though.

Love the photo of Charlie at the wheel

I want a big green lorry to come to my house. I like big green lorries. I am easily pleased.

The Dotterel said...

I won't be going there again for sure, FF.

It can be arranged Pippa. Do you want their number?

Steve said...

That's a handsome looking hob...!

The Dotterel said...

Indeed it is Steve... the oven's quite hot too!

Love the photo of Charlie in the delivery lorry. Worth getting a new cooker for, me thinks. Do you have a similar pair of Thomas slippers, by the way?

Rebecca S. said...

I don't think we have lovely ovens like that here in Canada - but then we don't keep our washing machines in the kitchen either.
Oh boys and trucks. It's love!

Amy said...

ooooh lovely new cooker :) i've tagged you at mine xxxxx

Kate said...

Nice cooker! Very shiny too. My Hattie is very partial to a van or a bin-lorry - especially if the driver waves!! Actually, come to think of it, I have been known to wave at the driver too!!!

lunarossa said...

Wow, great cooker, congratulations! But I love the photo with Charlie on the wheel the most! Wonderful slippers. Do you think they do them in my size (4) too? All the best. Ciao. A.

So Charlie is no longer in love with the bin men. That must be a relief.

A Happy New Year to you and your family!

Ladybird World Mother said...

OMG I have to have some slippers like Charlie!! xx

The Dotterel said...

Do you think they'd suit me Rosie?

Fridge one side, washer the other Rebecca. Not how it should be done over here either!

Thanks Amy... I'll be over to collect in a minute.

This driver waved, smiled and - as you can see - put Charlie in the driver's seat Kate. All very jolly, and Charlie loved it!

Not sure Antonella, but due to the level of interest I'm sure someone ought to be considering making some!

No, CW - it's the bin-men as well as the delivery men I'm afraid! (Happy New Year!)

What size LWM? I'm thinking of going into business...

Cookers are like kittens - lovely when they're new but they don't stay like that.

Come to think of it so are kids....

Nah just kidding - they're lovely when they go out on their own.

The Dotterel said...

You've got a point MrsW... about kids, kittens and cookers. Not sure I'd want my new oven going out alone though...

Very nice indeed. Any chance Charlie could deliver my post? We haven't seen the post man for a week! Living in the remote parts of Northumberland means we get cut off every flippin' winter.

CJ xx

The Dotterel said...

Bet that doesn't make the national news CJ, with additional 'snow specials' on prime-time TV either! Funny how some of us (you) put up with this stuff every year without the rest of the country noticing. Hope the snow-man, I mean post-man gets through soon.

Ooo, nice new oven! Actually, that's a bit of a girly thing to say isn't it?

That photo of Charlie in the van made me laugh. Whenever we take Izzy to Eureka in Halifax, she spends most of the time sitting in the Yorkshire Electricity lorry cab!

The Dotterel said...

Not at all WM - I'm not a girl, and I think it's nice! Mind you, I'm the one that cooks on it. And as for Eureka, that sounds like the kind of place we ought to be taking Charlie. He'd love it!
