A Birthday Party!

There was cake, of course, and candles; there were plenty of balloons. And there were other children, and a lot of people wanting cuddles. But the first-ever birthday party Charlie has attended wasn't some new friend from Jelly-Tots or an invite from a yummy-mummy friend of Sarah's - but his great-grandfather's ninetieth. So, yesterday, we all wished Alan 'Happy Birthday'. Cake was eaten; candles were blown out and Charlie sat on his great-grandad's knee. It was quite an occasion!

  1. It looks as though you all had a good party but Charlie does not seem too sure about Great Grandfather!!

  2. How lovely for your grandfather to have all those little ones help him open his presents....I'm sure that's what life's all about Lx

  3. Thanks for visiting today.. I have two little ones as well (Andrew, 8 and Sophia, 6). There are definitely days I wish I was the one at home. Other days, I reaize my limitations and consider myself lucky to have a wife with the constitution and patience to do the job far better than I! Parenting is definitely a character builder.

  5. Oh yes, it's certainly what life is all about - and amazing to see the generations all together! And yes, parenting is certainly a character builder. Not sure I'll do a better job than Sarah's doing when it's my turn in September, but I'll give it my best shot!
